Perth Fringe World 2022 Program
A wide range of daring entertainment will take over Perth when Fringe World, produced by ARTRAGE, returns to town in 2022, bringing with it an assortment of entertainment.
The program includes 436 shows in 90 venues located in 27 suburbs. Other shows will also be added in the coming months.
“Fringe World is an opportunity to celebrate how great it is to be in Perth and to enjoy 31 days of world-class entertainment and great times with our family and friends,” said Sharon Burgess, CEO of ‘ARRAGE.
“The open access, unorganized Fringe platform means more shows will go on sale ahead of the Festival, in response to any border changes. “
Playground on the sidelines The Jardin des Plaisirs will host shows for all festival fans. For families, there’s the return of sold-out Fringe circus favorites “A Simple Space”, as well as the mad scientist freaks in “Magnus” Explosion Laboratory: “Electrickery”, and the Royale Theater will be rolling out “CIRCUS”. Also get your perm and leggings ready for the circus / comedy / dance show ’80’s Mixtape Side B’ and Dane Simpson presents ‘Digeridoozy’, a comedic ode to one of the world’s oldest wind instruments.
The powerful and intimate circus show “She Is Strong” and, in contrast, the musical “Hot Nonsense” by Matt Storer will both take to the stage of the historic girls’ school, art-deco center.

As you head into town, you can take a trip on the “Honky Tonk Time Machine” to Badlands, featuring multi-Grammy award-winning Jessie Gordon and Lucky Oceans. Justin Sider will deliver a down-to-earth slapstick with “Dickless”, and at The Rechabite you can catch the funny and deadly Fabian Woods with “Always Woods Always Will Be”.
Diversity shines through the Fringe World program, including “BIPOCity – Unity Amongst Diversity” at the Ellington Jazz Club, featuring Black, Indigenous and Colored (BIPOC) performers.
As you head out of town, you can experience the existential comedy cabaret “Hello, Asteroid” at the Subiaco Arts Center, the dark ritual of devotion in the dance work “You Are” at PS Art Space, or “Get Pasted” at Art Space Collective, a site-specific fresco and exhibition on the bombardment of modern images.
In 2022, 16 new locations will participate in Fringe World for the first time, in a program comprising 75% of WA events. It’s a great way to support local artists and those who have had a tough year because of COVID. The rest of the program features 6 percent international artists and 18 percent interstate artists.
Perth Fringe World is open from January 14 to February 13, 2022.
