Plymouth’s Drake Circus is now home to Barrhead Travel’s first branch in the southwest
A leading travel agency is set to open its first branch in the Southwest this weekend – and it will be in Plymouth.
Barrhead Travel, which has been in existence for 42 years with more than 70 branches across the UK, will open in a small unit next to EE at Drake Circus in the city center. It is understood that he is filling an otherwise empty unit that previously housed the Skinny Dip clothing and accessories store.
The new store comes as Barrhead Travel, headquartered in Scotland, resumes its UK-wide expansion that has been delayed due to the pandemic.

The Plymouth store will be run by Director Claire Ives and a team of travel specialists with over 50 years of combined experience.
It will offer a wide variety of different vacations and trips, including cruises, vacations, sightseeing trips, weddings, honeymoons, city breaks and beach breaks – all tailor-made for each client.
Confirming the news, a spokesperson said: “A leading UK travel agency, Barrhead Travel, will open on Plymouth’s Main Street.
“The move marks the resumption of the agency’s expansion plan, made possible by the return of confidence in the travel industry alongside growing demand for the services of a travel agent – and Plymouth is the first in the list.
“The brand new store is located at the Drake Circus Shopping Center at the entrance to Old Town Street, adjacent to Cotswold Outdoor and EE and is slated to open on Saturday September 11 with an official launch party to celebrate a new start for the team of four – all of whom have been working remotely since 2019. “
