The Festival de Porta Ferrada, born in 1958 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, is the oldest summer festival in Spain and takes place throughout the village in its streets, squares and venues with a range of local and international artists from various disciplines – including musicians, singers, orchestras and choirs. The festival is also renowned for the number of educational activities and workshops it organizes for the benefit of young Catalan musicians.

The medieval castle of Peralada is the setting for the Castell de Peralada festival during the months of July and August.
