What’s great about Dayton: July 23-29, 2021
Tonight you can see the classic Wizard of Oz movie if you go to the Dayton Dragons Stadium. Bring a blanket, sit on the grass of the field and watch it. Doors open at 6 a.m., the film starts at 6.30 p.m.
At the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Dayton tonight and Saturday there are artists at 7pm. There is no charge for this… but you must bring a blanket or a chair. Find out who’s playing at: levittdayton.org
The 20th Century Circus is one of the last circuses on tour in the United States. They bring old circus skills to create an hour and a half of circus under tents! It’s in Waynesville, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Second Street Market is now open on Saturdays. You can go inside and feast on fresh local produce. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At Neon Movies, there is a Family Films on Saturday morning. Tickets are given on a first come, first served basis. It’s a chance for families to enjoy the movie experience together and keep the kids engaged in a thoughtful way. There is no charge and it is at 11 a.m.
Garlic Fest takes place at Carroll High School on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. There are 15 food vendors, beer, live bands, cooking demonstrations, a dunk tank, and the garlic feeding contest.
You can now nominate a Women of Influence award. They are women who are committed to eradicating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. This is organized by the YWCA of Dayton and their website is: ywcadayton.org
