ProSiebenSat.1 Group Boosts Full Year Outlook Based on Strong Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA Growth in Q2 2021

Unterföhring, July 19, 2021. The turnover of the ProSiebenSat.1 group increased significantly by 47% to approximately EUR 1,045 million (previous year: EUR 709 million) in the second quarter of 2021 based on preliminary and unaudited figures. Adjusted EBITDA also developed very positively on this basis and increased more than sevenfold to around 165 million euros (previous year: 23 million euros). This is mainly due to the dynamic increase in the Group’s advertising revenues in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region, which increased by 56% compared to the quarter of the previous year. The Group thus recorded a very strong recovery compared to the quarter of the previous year impacted by COVID-19.

Following this substantial and profitable growth, the Group is also raising its outlook for fiscal year 2021, which was last adjusted on May 12, 2021 on the occasion of the Q1 2021 Quarterly Declaration: In total, the Group is now targeting year 2021 – without further modification of the portfolio – turnover of 4.4 trillion euros (formerly: 4.250 billion euros) as lower limit and revenues of 4.5 trillion euros (formerly: 4.450 billion euros) as the upper limit of the target range (figure for the previous year corrected for currency and portfolio effects: 4.055 billion euros(1)). Over the 2021 fiscal year, the Group’s revenue growth would thus be between 9% and 11% compared to the previous year (previously: 5% to 10%). On the basis of these revenue assumptions, for the whole of 2021, ProSiebenSat.1 now anticipates an adjusted Group EBITDA – without further modification of the portfolio – of approximately € 820 million with a difference over / under 20 million euros (previously: target range of EUR 750 million to 800 million EUR; figure for the previous year adjusted for currency and portfolio effects: 708 million EUR(2)). This corresponds for the midpoint to an increase of 16% year-on-year.
