The Generating Company is an internationally recognised contemporary circus production company base in East London. Our shows and events push the boundaries between circus, dance and physical theatre. In 2008, we will be producing several new productions for an international client base. We also are running and extensive training programme.

Assistant Bookkeeper

We are looking for a new Assistant Bookkeeper to assist the Finance Manager in our busy production office.

The successful candidate must be willing to work under pressure and within a small committed team.

Demonstrate experience in the following will be required:

Running Sage software, Data entry onto Sage Accounts, dealing with payroll, Tax and NI returns, issuing invoices, chase unpaid invoices, cheque payments to suppliers, petty cash and input cash receipts, collect post, answer the telephone, and any other work as required including participating in staff meetings.

Hours will be 9.00am till 5.00pm, Monday through to Wednesday.

17 – 20k pro rata

Cruise Ship Workshop Teachers

We are looking for enthusiastic circus workshop teachers for  2 - 6 month contracts onboard a new cruise ship, sailing around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Workshop leaders should have at least two years experience in teaching circus skills at a competent level. You will be part of an eight-person team representing the generating company. Your duties will involve teaching 2 x circus workshops per day during an eight hour day over 6 x days a week, share a cabin and be part of a 30 minute show that is performed once a week involving the passengers on board ship.

Type of people and qualities:
Good time keeping, experience in managing people, positive attitude imperative, a high standard of teaching different level and ages, flexible, adaptable, adept teamplayer

Workshop skills:
Can you teach 2 of the following skills?
• Flying trapeze
• Slapstick
• Acro-balance
• Break-dance
• Stilts
• Static trapeze and hoop
• Chinese pole
• Juggling and hoola hoop
• Low tight-wire
• Acrobatics

Positions Available
1x Team leader / workshop leader / show director – Fee tbc in New Year
1x Deputy team leader / workshop leader / rigger – Fee tbc in New Year 6x Workshop leaders – Fee tbc in New Year
*fees will include tax and national insurance

Dates
2>4 month contracts commencing 1 March 2008:
• 18 April>24 October: Mediterranean
• 24 October>26 March: Caribbean
